OLLABORATION between Smiths
Jacking Systems Ltd., Witney, Oxford;hire. and Joseph Lucas Ltd., Birmingham, has resulted in the production of a 24 V d.c. electro-hydraulic power unit suitable for the operation of such equipment as tailboard lifts and loading platforms.
A Smiths P.3/3 piston-type hydraulic pump is direct coupled to a Lucas motor and will deliver oil at up to 2,000 p.s.i. and at a general working pressure of 1,500 p.s.i, The unit will deliver 75 Cu, in. per minute with a current flow of 29 amps.
