Although primarily intended for cars there can be applications in the commercial vehicle industry for the Even Keel suspension control units introduced by Spax.
These comprise a Spax adjustable telescopic damper embodying a variable-rate coil spring which enshrouds the unit. Types for various car models are produced—they cost £8 each. They are designed for use at the rear suspension and when there is heavy loading such as towing trailers, the heavier rated coils operate progressively to supplement the normal suspension.
