Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• A tractive unit version of the AEC 690 6 x 4 dump truck which is now marketed as an Aveling-Barford model will be featured by Thornycroft at Earls Court. Called the Bush Tractor, this model is designed for on /off road work in overseas development areas and provides for a gross combination weight of 35 tons.

Mechanically the Bush Tractor follows exactly the Aveling-Barford 690 with an AEC 187 bhp AV691 diesel engine and six-speed constant speed gearbox. The two driving axles have double-reduction spiral-bevel /double-helical drive and single centrally pivoted inverted leaf springs are fitted at each side for suspension. Brake sizes are I5.5in. by 5in. at the front and 15.5in. by 7in. at the rear and spring-brake chambers are used at the rear to provide for the parking and secondary system. For the tractive unit version there is a modification to the brake system obviously for semi-trailer connection. Front tyres are 11.00-20, 14-ply and there are 15.00-20, 20-ply tyres on the rear bogie.
