• McNab Groceries Ltd, of Flateford, Edinburgh, was granted an 0 licence for five vehicles, one to be acquired, at Edinburgh on Wednesday.
Mr A. Macnamara, director responsible for transport, outlined an arrangement with A and J Macnab Ltd, of Flateford, a firm not connected with them but part of whose premises they occupied, to have their maintenance done in the shops that have been set up by that firm to handle their own fleet. They had no convictions beyond two delayed GV9s in June 1970 and operated a system of complete overhaul after one year or 12,000 miles. Vehicles were examined on a monthly basis or 1000 miles and defects passed to A. and J. Macnab for attention. Alternatively work went outside if extremely urgent.
