• The Ford Motor Company and over 200 bodybuilders have agreed on a code of bodybuilding practice and bodywork application, the aim of which is to ensure that the completed vehicle will retain its operating efficiency over a long period.

A series of meetings was held with bodybuilders earlier this year and the 200 firms mentioned have signed a binding agreement with Ford to mount bodies and equipment on Ford chassis in accordance with the company's Body and Equipment Mounting Manual. The agreement gives bodybuilders the right to use the code symbol and it gives Ford the right to inspect tools, methods of working and completed vehicles.
