I The threat of continued strike tion by up to 90 P&G Trans uropean drivers over a new age deal has brought their osses to the negotiating table. Following a 24-hour strike on ' September two more strike ays had been set for 1 and 2 ctober and an overtime ban ad been called.
However, the action was ailed off after P&L bosses and le drivers' unions agreed to air ieir differences at a meeting through ACAS on 1 October.
A spokesman for P&G describes this meeting as "lengthy and productive", adding that any developments would be known by the end of the week.
The new wage deal is designed to harmonise pay and condEtions for bulk chemical drivers in the firm's spot and affreightment division across eight sites. However, the unions say that in reality the deal amounts to an 11% pay cut.
