Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Finnish company Mascus is expanding its web-based sales site for used trucks, farm and construction equipment to include vehicles available through UK dealers. The Mascus site was launched in Finland earlier this year with the intention of rolling it

out into key Euroo

pean markets including the UK. ,igochr The site has

already had Transport 85,000 visitors

and currently _ features some 1,600 items of equipment worth more than £25m. Mascus is backed by the Finnish equipment manufacturer Partek, which also owns truck-maker Sisu.

Mascus claims its system is extremely user-friendly with just three mouse clicks necessary to find the right equipment. As buyers register they are given their own personal pages where they can draw up the specification of the vehicle they are looking for.

A potential buyer seeing a likely purchase can contact the seller direct. Users can also create a "vehicle wanted" request in which case the system will search for a particular model until one is posted on the site. Buyers are then alerted via e-mail or on their / personal pages. Mascus can also provide finance quotes for equipment on its site through third-party suppliers. Visitors use the site for free; advertisers pay a posting fee per piece of equipment or per month. Individual sellers can also submit equipment for sale and pay on-line.
