• An order for frames, panelling and fittings for the bodies of 10 double-deck buses to be built by the China Motor Bus Co., Hong Kong, has been secured by the Tube Investments company, Metal Sections Ltd., through its Hong Kong agents Dodwell and Co. Ltd.
The components will be supplied as c.k.d. kits each of which will contain cold-rolled steel section for a complete bus frame, together with light-alloy interior and exterior side panels and floor plates, formed lightalloy interior and exterior roof domes and roof insulation. Also included in each kit will be hand rails, stanchions, destination gear, window blinds and fully glazed windows and windscreens.
Guy Arab Mk V chassis powered by Gardner 6LX engines will form the basis of the 10 new buses which will seat 68 passengers.
