Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Four Leyland Leopard coaches with standard Alexander Y-type single-deck bodies have been delivered to Sheffield Joint Omnibus Committee in readiness for five new express services to be introduced by a consortium of operators.

The new services will use the South Yorkshire Motorway (MI) and will be operated as follows: Sheffield-Leeds express; Sheffield-Leeds via Barnsley; Sheffield-Bradford via Barnsley and Dewsbury; Sheffield-Halifax via Dewsbury, Heckmondwike and Cleckheaton; and Mexborough-Leeds via Rotherham and Barnsley.

Each service will have a basic two-hourly frequency, giving an hourly service over some common sections of routes. The introduction of the service will depend upon the opening of the motorway and the satisfactory conclusion of negotiations with the trade unions for the single-manning of the coaches.

The introduction of the services is being co-ordinated by the Yorkshire Traction Co. Ltd., Barnsley, and other members of the consortium, in addition to SJOC, are Rotherham Corporation Transport, Mexborough and Swinton Traction Co. Ltd., Yorkshire Woollen District Transport Co. Ltd., West Riding Automobile Co. Ltd., Hebble Motor Services Ltd. and Bradford City Transport.
