Hartridge Newcomers

SEVERAL new items of fuel-injection servicing equipment are to be introduced shortly by Leslie Hartridge, Ltd., 9 Victoria Street, London, S.W.1.

The new Hartridge Major is an improved medium-size injection-pump test bench for general purposes, and has infinitely variable speed control from 50-4,000 r.p.m. A larger pump-mounting table is incorporated for easy service, and other features include the latest electronic phasing mechanism.

A low-priced, floor-mounted machine is the Junior test bench for servicing the widely used "A," " AA " an0 " B " fuel-injection pumps, together with the new C.A.V. distributor-type pump.

The Minor injection-pump calibrator is a bench-mounted machine giving servicing coverage similar to the Junior model.

For bench or vice mounting, the new nipple-forming tool can be supplied with accessories for dealing with 6-mm., 8-mm. and 10-mm. pipes. The hydraulic screw-operated ram is claimed to provide a quick and accurate means for forming nipples on standard high-pressure pipes of the type commonly used on oil engines.

Special accessories for use with all standard Hartridge machines are the D.P.A. attachments to cater for the C.A.V. distributor-type fuel-injection pump.

One Clip—Many Sizes A HOSE clip, made in two sizes, rA which covers a range of up to 3+ in. diameter has been produced by the Elms Garage, Rednal Road, Birmingham, 31.

The cadmium-plated strip of which the clip is composed is grooved trans

versely along its whole length, the free end engaging with a blind-end housing carrying a worm screw.

The No. I size is suitable for hose diameters of up to 2 in., whilst the No. 2 covers the range from 1-.1-34 in. diameter. For identification, the housing of the larger clip is coloured. The cost is £1 I6s. for 36 No. 2 clips and £1 7s. for 36 N. 1 clips.

Solid-tyre Reconditioning ANEW method of bonding rubber to metal, known as Durasolid, has been developed by Vacu-Lug Traction Tyres, Ltd., Gonerby Hill Foot, Grantham, who are now extending the service. Equipment has been installed to make possible the reconditioning of solid tyres on a much larger scale, whilst improved techniques and materials are said to have given excellent results in prolonged tests.

It is stated that apart from the reconditioning of solid tyres and the rubber

ing of metal wheels, a wide variety of work has been undertaken, and in addition to the smooth tread which is normally required for solid rubber-tyred wheels and rims, various traction-type designs can also be produced.

All sizes of metal wheel or rim from 2 in. to 6 ft. diameter can be rubhered or rerubbered, and over 300 different sizes have already been treated.

Universal Swivel Nozzle

I—I A NEW snap-on universal swivel

nozzle with a flexible rubber-hose extension which can be fitted to all their Nubrex side-lever grease guns, has been introduced recently by Ch. J. Neuman, Ltd., 445 Brighton Road, South Croydon, Surrey.

It is said to be capable of withstanding pressures in excess of 15.000 p.s.i. and is intended for use on difficult greasing points which cannot be reached with a grease gun having a rigid nozzle. The expected cost is about £5.
