MR. W. H. HARRISON and MR. E. HOLLAND-MARTEN have relinquished their directorships of the British Aluminium Co., Ltd. MR. G. A. ANDERSON, MP.. W. C. B. PERRYCDSTE and MR. I. SALTER have become directors. Mr. Anderson holds the appointment of general sales manager, and Mr. Perrycoste and Mr. Salter are general production managers. MR. G. W. LACEY, previously sales director, has become commercial director, MR. SYDNEY S. GUY, chairman and managing director of Guy Motors, Ltd., and the Sunbeam Trolleybus Co., Ltd., has retired at the age of 72. In the Edwardian era he was service manager of Humber, Ltd., and at the age of 24 became works manager of the former Sunbeam Motor Car Co., Ltd. He left that concern to form Guy Motors, Ltd., in 1914. His first vehicle, a 30-cwt. truck, had overdrive, flexible engine mountings, double-reduction rear axle and a governor to limit road speed to 30 m.p.h. without affecting engine speed in the lower gears. Mr. Guy has served on the council of the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders for 33 years. He was chairman of the commercial-vehicle section in 1926 and was later vice-president. Mr. Guy is succeeded as chairman of the company by M. A. L. BLOWER. COL. ARTHUR JERRETT becomes managing director and MR. TREVOR Guy has joined the board.

J. H. WHTTAKER was reported last week. MR. E. R. L. FITZPAYNE will continue as honorary treasurer for 1957-58.

MR. HERBERT H. CROW has been nominated by the Road Haulage Association to Succeed MR. FRANK FOWLER Oil the panel of members of the Transport Tribunal. The nomination has been sent to the Minister of Transport. In fact, Mr. Fowler has never sat as a member of the Tribunal.

MR. C. P. Hommis, general manager of British Railways (Southern Region) and MR. R. G. GROUT, vice-chairman of the General Steam Navigation Co., Ltd., have been elected to the institute of Transport Council. They succeed MR. DAVID BLEE and MR. H. LESLIE BOWES, who have been appointed vicepresidents, M. N. T. O'REILLY (RObS011'S Border Transport, Ltd.) has been nominated by the Road Haulage Association to fill the vacancy on the Road Haulage Wages Council caused by the resignation of MR. W. FARNORTH. The recommendation has gone to the Minister of Labour. Mr, O'Reilly is chairman of the R.H.A. finance committee.
