1-1 A 40-1-JOUR week is likely soon to
be sought by municipal busmen. This was forecast by Mr. Frank Taylor, general manager of Newcastle upon Tyne Transport Department, when he appeared before the Northern Traffic Commissioners on Monday.
He said members of the National Joint Industrial Council had already received broad hints that the question would be brought up soon. Unions would seek reduced hours without any drop in wages.
He also expected a further provincial wage claim if the demand by London busmen were granted.
