M.O.T. PRESSES FOR TRANSPORT FOR BUILDING THE Northern Licensing Authority, I Mr. S. W. Nelson, at a recent sitting at Newcastle-on-Tyne, stated that he had been asked by the Ministry of Transport to give all the help he could in licensing transport for builders' materials, especially that used for housing. Mr. Nelson said he understood that the Ministry of Supply had been asked by the Government to give priority to the supply of vehicles to builders and their hauliers.

Mr. Nelson referred to the setting up of new factories in his area, and said that he had given an undertaking to see that, as far as lay in his power, there was no shortage of transport for industries and the erection of new factories. L. OF T. WINTER PROGRAMME

The annual dinner will be held on January 8, when the Institute's president, Mr. R. Stuart Pilcher, will visit the section.
