Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

IT is announced by the Truck and 1Tractor Appliance Co. (Manchester), Ltd., Richmond Road, Trafford Park, Manchester, that an interesting new T.T.A. semi-trailer has been introduced, which will make its appearance at the forthcoming Commercial Motor Show.

The machine is named the Four-inLine, and will be available in two models for 6 tons and 8 tons respectively. The former is designed for attachment to any short-wheelbase 2-3tonner and the latter to 3-4-ton towing units, Both models are available as permanently coupled or detachable units, and the turntable and coupling gear are, in both cases, of the spring type.

The special feature of the new design is that the four rear wheels are arranged in line, there being two short axles. Each one of these is mounted between a pair of springs, arranged one above the other, and is free to swivel on a trunnion incorporated in the fitting secured between the springs. Each wheel runs independently; thus it can travel at a different speed from its neighbour when rounding a corner.

Braking is effected by a Dewandre servo system and there is a brake drum on each wheel. The frames of the vehicles consist of two parts, a main frame and a supplementary frame upon which the body is mounted.

The price of the 0-tonner, complete with turntable and lorry body, is 1210 or, if jockey wheels .be provided, £224. The corresponding figures for the 8tonner are 1248 and £266. The wheels of the smaller vehicle are shod with 32-in. by 6-in. tyres, and those of the larger have 34-in. by 7-in. tyres.
