THREE MEN have been jailed for a total of 10 years for their part in stealing nearly £5,000 worth of property from trucks across Kent.

Canterbury Crown Court heard how 49 vehicles left overnight between Dover and Folkestone had their curtains slashed. causing .E4,900 damage, as the thieves took property valued at £4,499.

David Hardy of Harold Hill denied the charges but was found guilty of four cases of stealing; he was sentenced to four years and three months.

Anthony Grunweil, also of Harold Hill, admitted six offences of stealing from trucks and was jailed for four years. Stephen Turley of Wick ford admitted two offences and was sentenced to 30 months.
