Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

* Creditors of the failed freight forwarder Dual Carriage are concerned its managing director might now be behind a new company which services the same customers as Dual Carriage, although he is not listed as such.

Directors of the new venture, Liverpoolbased Trailer Express, insist that John Parkinson. the Dual Carriage director, has nothing to do with them and that Trailer Express is a creditor of Dual Carriage.

Trailer Express operations director Graeme Phinester says former employees of Dual Carriage have set up a co-operative to plug the gap in the market left by Dual Carriage.

He admits that Lee Parkinson, John Parkinson's son, works for Trailer Express but the only connection with John Parkinson is the rental of his office.

Another sub-contractor claims this week that Parkinson's reason for the failure of Dual Carriage, the increasing cost of diesel, doesn't add up.

"It doesn't make sense to say the fuel killed him because the subbies had to pay for that. The increases affected their margins." he says.

Trailer Express is based in Park Street, Birkenhead but has applied to use the Truckstop in Church Street, Liverpool as an operating centre for 28 trucks and five trailers.
