Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Despite the blue-collar attire, these three cheerful chappies are very much the stuff of white-collar management. The trio were picked from 140 applicants to be appointed management trainees as part of Frigoscandia's management training scheme.

While studying for professional qualifications on the 20-month scheme they will gain experience working on a variety of projects within the company's cold store, transport and commercial business areas.

Between them the three have already chalked up some valuable experience. Simon Okell (left), 25, from Cambridge, has a degree in applied physics; he previously worked at Frigoscandia's King's Lynn store for three years, most recently as a despatch clerk. Mark Mindham (centre), 26, from King's Lynn, has a degree in business administration and also joins from the company's King's Lynn site. And Richard Faint, 23 (standing), from Hartlepool, has a degree in history and previously worked at a bulk liquid distribution company in the North-East.

Good choice, says I. Three bright sparks heading into the next millennium!
