uou struggle to find a parking space, succeeding only after several attempts.
Seeing a PAY HERE sign you approach with some urgency already late for that appointment with the bank manager. Wondering if you have the right change for the ticket machine you are stopped in your tracks by the fact that there is no ticket machine.

No, this is just Cheltenham car park having a quiet little joke at its customers' expense. Ticket machines do exist but putting them under the sign would be too simple.
