Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

L./ OPIE time ago it was hinted in this paper that Albion Motors, Ltd., Scotstoun, Glasgow, would shortly produce a double-deck bus, suitable for municipal and other users. With the approach of the Scottish Motor Show the company asks us to announce that the new model is now complete, and that it is intended to display it at the Show. It is to be called the Venturer, and the chassis will permit of bodywork carrying up to about 51 persons.

The design of the large six-eylindered engine follows the lines., that have proved successful in the Valiant singledecker, inclined overhead valves, operated by a high camshaft, being employed. These combine efficiency with the ease of adjustment that is a feature of overhead valves, whilst there is some of the simplicity of side-valve layout. The cylinders, however, are cast separately from the crankcase. The arrangement of the auxiliaries renders them particularly accessible.

The exposed clutch and separate gearbox of the Venturer are points that will be appreciated by, maintenance

men, and the arrangement makes it a simple matter to drop the gearbox. The transmission line is offset, 80 as to give a low floor levee.

Alternative tyre equipment is offered. Either 36-in. by 8-in, high-pressure tyres may be fitted to all wheels, or single 10.50-in. by 20-in. Iow-pressure tyres may be fitted to the front wheels and twin 9.00-in. by 20-in, low-pressure tyres to the rear wheels.

Needless to say, the chassis has been produced to comply with Ministry of Transport„ regulations.
