Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

The 30 h.p. Thornycroft engine for Christchurch, in a two-ton chassis, the complete vehicle equipped as a firstaid machine, has now been in service four months, and has done some excellent service. A sister machine is in use at Auckland (N.Z.).

Progress at Oldham.

Some boroughs move slowly, if surely. The Oldham Council has got as far, now, as to advise that one motor tender should be bought each year until all its stations are so provided. The Head Constable is a convinced advocate of the change.

Efficiency at Birmingham.

Councillor Brooks, in responding to a vote of thanks for his services as Chairman of the Watch Committee, paid a high tribute to the efficiency of the Birmingham brigade. A Dennis turbine fire-engine is on order here, and Supt. A, R. Tozer is at the head of the administration.

A Local Government Board inquiry has been held at Bromley, Kent, to inquire into the proposal to borrow 25,000 for the equipment of a new motor fire-engine station. The sane

torn of the Board is expected, and tenders will then be invited for the supply of a motor fire-engine and a first-aid motor with fire-escape. No horsedrawn equipment is to be acquired.
