Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

You recently published my comments about parking charges levied by motorway service operators. By way of a digression, I commented on the cost of food and drink at these places.

In the course of a recentjourney on the M5 my wife wanted a decaffeinated coffee. The cost of a small one cup" sachet was £1.59! My wife imndoned her thirst.

Perhaps your magazine could offer a prize, sponsored by the service operators, for the best and most extreme example of cynical pricing. The prize could be a 11 token, which, in practice, would purchase nothing.

Jonathan Lawton, Tattenhall, Chester.

• Have you paid more for a coffee? Let us know!—Ed.
