Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE 36-ft.-long Leyland Leopard for Edinburgh Corporation, which was exhibited at the Scottish Show last November, entered public service in the city at the end of April. The vehicle has been used for experimental and demonstration work during the past few months, and. some minor modifications, including the provision of a public address system, have been carried out. The vehicle is believed to be the first bus of its size to enter service in a British city.

The Alexander bodywork is at present arranged to seat 33 passengers and provide standing accommodation for 30. Later, subject to legal sanction, it is hoped to increase the standing capacity to 40.

Edinburgh Corporation was prominent in experimenting with high-standingcapacity single-deckers a decade ago, soon after the 30-ft. length was first permitted. Although 30-ft. single deckers are used on a number of services in the city, double-deckers continue to be used extensively. The most recently delivered batch of 50 vehicles were double-deckers of the 27-ft.-long rear-entrance type.
