Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

ORIGINALLY designed as a chassis for coach operators overseas, the Dodge 87AP6 forward-control model was recently made available to users in this country. One of the first chassis to be marketed has been fitted with a steel cab by Dayson and Co. (Coachbuilders), Ltd.. Smethwick, Birmingham.

It is of a standard type, but modified to meet the requirements of a Midland haulage contractor, Capel's Transport, Ltd., Balsall Common. The chassis was supplied by Barker and Williams, Ltd., Cherrywood Road, Birmingham, 9.

The vehicle has a capacity of 6-7 tons and forward control gives a platform length of 20 ft: 6 in., which compares with a length of 19 ft. 7 in. provided by the Dodge 146 7-tonner with normal control. The added space is of great value to the operator, who built a wooden platform body on the chassis in his own workshops.

The cab in standard form is of the type fitted to the Guy Otter and the Thornycroft Sturdy Star. Modifications include re-shaping the front to give full vision and increasing the width between the forward pillars. New roof corners had to be made of sheet steel and extra metal to widen the roof had to be added. Glazing is of toughened glass.

Moulded Perspex corners are fitted to the large windscreen, and the centre and side pillars are at stainless-stecl section.

Interior panels are covered with red leathereloth, and similar material is used for the upholstery of the two bucket seats. The driver's seat is fully adjustable.

The Dodge 87AP6 is fitted with an Eaton two-speed axle and is powered by a Perkins P6 oil engine.
