AFTER a legal battle, over the past . 2i years, lasting nine days before the Metropolitan Licensing Authority and 18 days before the Appeal Tribunal, Annis and Co., Ltd., has won a partial victory against the Hay's Wharf Cartage Co. Ltd., and E. W. Rudd (B.T.C.), Ltd.

The Tribunal has directed the authority to grant the company an A licence to operate three tractors and three trailers, being satisfied that there is a need for its services as a heavy haulier.

The Authority had granted the company an A licence for five tractors and two trailers. The Tribunal's decision has the effect of cutting down the company's unladen tonnage but of increasing its carrying capacity.

The Annis company has been awarded £105 costs in respect of the cross appeals by the respondents. In the lower court, 28 witnesses for Annis and seven for Hay's Wharf and Rudd were heard.
