NAONTREAL transport rates have Iv' risen after a ruling by the Quebec Transportation Board on an application by the Automotive Transport Association. The Board granted increases of 8-12 per cent, applying to general commercial cartage, parcel delivery, furniture removing and the transport of coal.

Hauliers will be allowed to charge 22.50 dollars a day for the hire of twoton lorries, 25.50 dollars for lorries up to 4 tons, and 30 dollars for eIticles tip to 7 tons. On a five-day week basis, the rates will be 85, 95 and 105 dollars. respectively.
