• The Vehicle Inspectorate has published a revised Categorisation of Defects guide.
VI examiners use the guide when considering imposing prohibitions; it suggests what action to take, depending on the severity of the defect discovered. Copies are available from Vehicle Inspectorate testing stations or direct from the Publications Unit, PO Box 12, Swansea SA11BP. The cost is 211 for the latest amendment pack (excluding ring binder), or £21.32 for the complete guide.
