Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

I am a regular reader of CM and you have a small article about me in CM February 18 headed "Drivers boycott threat." I would like to make a couple of things clear: I am fighting the ban on lorries by the council as I am an unemployed HGV 1 driver and know the problems of parking lorries.

Being unemployed I had the time to fight the council and would like to see drivers nationwide do the same in their areas. Also I am mainly objecting to the closure of Ellesmere house car park as this is away from houses, near the main road, unused overnight, near to toilets with washing facilities and The Central Fish Restaurant in the Rookery Precinct, and close to the car park where drivers can sit and have a meal and a cup of tea.

Then there is a nice mixed selection of pubs and a picture house; these facilities should be fought for in every town in the country. People want us parked away from towns, villages and everywhere.

We, the hgv drivers, are the only people who still have to work a 60-hour week to get and keep a job. and we deserve the right to park where we can live in the same style as if we were at our homes. After all we are vital to the nation's economy not the tramps people think we are T. W. FLETCHER, Newmarket, Suffolk.
