ARECORD number of TIR carnets (303,850) was issued by IRU to member associations in 1965.

The largest user was France (62,500), which showed an increase of 48 per cent compared with 1964. There was also a marked increase of 60 per cent on 1964 in the case of the Federal Republic of Germany. Yugoslavia and Denmark recorded increases of more than 100 per cent.

Great Britain was again one of the smallest users, the RHA using 1,525 and the TRTA only 400.
