Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

LONDON TRANSPORT officials have now completed their investigation into the explosion of the airpressure reservoir on a bus while it was in service last month between Hemel Hempstead and Watford.

The -compressor unloader valve was found to have frozen on its seating and the reservoir tank safety valve was blocked and failed to operate. Damage was caused to the body floor and side panels just above the reservoir mounting.

London Transport says that the vehicle had been in storage for a considerable time. The explosion was definitely caused by the condition's of storage. As a precautionary measure, all stored chassis are now being thoroughly inspected. •
