A.ra sitting of the Northern Scotland Traffic Commissioners at Dundee on February 25, W. Alexander and Sons. Ltd., was granted permission torun day excursions from Dundee to the Empire Exhibition in Glasgow at 85. 3d: with half-day excursions at 6s. 3d., and excursions from 4 p.m. at 4s.
Applications to run similar tours by three other operators were opposed by the railway companies and by Alexander's on the ground that there were already ample facilities. The applications were withdrawn for the time being, Mr. Riches, chairman of the Commissioners, remarking that if applicants could show there was a real demand from Dundee for their services, the Commissioners would be glad to hear the evidence.
