Houthampton bus operator Solent Blue Line is playing a small but important role in the new Europe by exporting printed rolls and multi-journey tickets to eastern Germany.
The contract has been won by Solent's parent company. Isle of Wight operator Southern Vectis. Solent's service extends to advising the German bus operators on tickets and machines.
Just as well that the company's operations director, Peter Shelley, is an enthusiast — he is a member of the 700-strong Transport Ticket Society, which is interested in ticket issuing systems and fare collection methods.
