• Heysham, Lancs-based RO-RO and distribution specialist Roadferry has taken delivery of 26 Volvo FL1Os to help refine just-in-time delivery schedules.

The vehicles are a mixture of two and three-axle units plated at 32.5 and 38 tonnes to couple with standard dry freight and high-volume, double-deck trailers. They have been acquired on operating leases from Volvo Trucks distributor Carlisle Commercials. Operating from 10 depots in Britain and Ireland they will distribute "household name" goods ranging from toiletries to construction materials.
