We feel we must repudiate the claim made by Jonas Woodhead Ltd, to be the operators of the first independent chassis spares service specifically for Commercial Vehicle Operators (CM, May 7 and May 14/. This company—formed in 1930—has carried on the business of manufacture and supply of chassis parts, axleshafts, brake drums, etc, specifically for commercial vehicles.
Whilst we do not claim to have the distributive power of Jonas Woodhead Ltd, nor the ability to deal with road springs— we leave that to the experts—we believe that commercial vehicle operators have for some 40 years benefited from the specialized service this compact, privately owned company has and will continue to provide.
We trust that your concern for the small cog in the big machine of cv operators will allow publication space for this correction to be made.
