In last week's review, reference was made to the Sheppard Meiller 6000 being suitable for handling the removal of derelict cars, and this machine duly appeared at the parade with just such a vehicle in its clutches.

Ford exhibited a Series D model with the Eagle Crushload body. At Eagle's own showing of the Crushload, emphasis was laid on the reports from the initial test of the 75-cu,-yd. model (see last week).

A highway sweeping brush that feeds debris into a trailer by way of a chute over the operator's head was a feature of the Belos Gravely Ltd. exhibits. This Unit employed a Gravely tractor with Swiftamatic 8 transmission, giving the choice of four forward and four reverse speeds. Operations of the Bennes-Marrel lifting bucket multi-container system were shown by CAF Mechanical Handling Equipment Ltd.

A trailer designed for employment in conjunction with the Verro City suction sweeper featured hinged top-covers, snap connections to enable tipping to be carried out by power from the sweeper and a water tank for the ready replenishment of the main system.

The Karrier-Yorkshire suction sweeper showed' how the well-known Yorkshire pusher-plate principle is employed for discharge of the swept material. The sweeping mechanism is planned for use in conjunction with ally short-wheelbase proprietary chassis.

Motor Rail Ltd. offered the Corvette sweepers equipped for petrol or liquefied petroleum gas, with battery-electric as an alternative. A further product handled by this company is Clarke Debris Vac, a pedestrian cleaner that will lift the 30 in. path of paper cartons and other litter at walking pace.

An interesting feature to be seen on the Tennant 85 sweeper (R. S. Stokvis and Sons Ltd.) was the single-pedal control with toe down for forward speeds and heel down for reverse.
