rlA NEW name can be added to the ranks of semi-trailer makers with the introduction by Tiverton Coachbuilders Ltd., Blundell's Road, Tiverton, Devon, of the Dryfrcight integral-van model. The unit illustrated (right) is 26 ft. long by 8 ft. wide and overall height is 12 ft. 6 in.; this particular model is the first one to be offered but designs to suit particular requirements will be available,

Running gear consists of a Rubery Owen 18,000 lb. axle and suspension but any make can be supplied and it is possible that in future tandem-axle models will be produced. The light-alloy body is mounted on a pressed-steel sub-frame employing 7 in.-deep longitudinals and 4 in. outriggers at 3 ft. spacing. The body is framed with heavy-duty, top. hat extrusions at 16 in. pitch and bottom and top rail members are special Tiverton designs.

The front end of the body is panelled in fiat light-alloy sheet whilst the sides are in ribbed alloy and at the rear end the door framing is in steel with twin bottom members. A full-depth lightalloy shutter or alloy-faced laminated wood doors with rubber seals can be supplied. A mounting step and grab handle are fitted at the rear, together with heavy-duty rear buffers. Flooring is of 1.25 in. Parana pine and the body is fully slatted internally, whilst the bulkhead is of double-skin construction and reinforced to absorb braking loads.

Insulated and refrigerated versions are available and bodies can also be fitted with meat-hanging equipment and a hydraulic tailboard loader.
