Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

nN June 14 British Railways will

introduce a new scheme for streamlining their collection and delivery services in the Greater London area which, when in full operation, will provide a better service and save the railways £2m. a year.

The scheme is being launched now so that any teething troubles in the early stages can be overcome before the usual build-up of traffic in the autumn.

At present some 3,00(1 tons of sundries traffic a day are dealt with at 18 depots in London, with considerable interchange of traffic which will be avoided as a result of these changes.

The eventual aim is to reduce the number of depots in the Greater London area from 18 to only six---King's Cross St. Pancras/Somers Town, Camden, Paddington, Bricklayer's Arms and East Croydon.

Four of these will handle traffic in the busy Central area, and the rest of London will be divided into four districts each served by one depot only. Depots will deal with traffic as follows:— King's Cross will deal with sundries traffic bet,...ceit the Tastern and North-eastern regions of Railways and the Eastern side of the Scottish region and the Central (common) area of London.

St. PanerastSomers Town will handle an sundries traffic passing between those North, Northwest and East postai districts of London which are not in the Central (common) area and the rest of the country.

Camden will deal with sundries traffic between the London Midland Region and Western side of the Scottish Region and the Central (common) area.

Paddington will handle all sundries traffic between the West (except WI) and Sonic South-west postal districts of London and the whole country. The depot will also handle traffic between the Western region and the Central (common) area.

Bricklayer's Arms will handle all sundries traffic between most South-cast and sonic South-west Postal districts of London and the whole country. It will also handle traffic between the Southern Region and the Central (common) area.

East Croydon will serve some South London districts, dealing with all traffic within them.

The depots to close for sundries traffic on June 14 are Barnes, Broad Street, Kew Bridge North. Nine Elms. South Lambeth, Willesden and Victoria and Albert. As the plan is further implemented, other depots likely to close are Hayes. Park Royal, Plumstead, Poplar and Kew Bridge South.
