National Carriers director of sales and marketing Derrick Clarke has moved to Currys Micro Systems Ltd, as commercial director with responsibility for sales activity and branch development and administration. His career before joining NC included over 25 years with such electrical companies as Hoover, Hotpoint, English Electric, and GEC. NC recently took over Curry's 40-vehicle delivery fleet as part of its contract services activities.

Plackett's Transport Ltd, of Nottingham has made its financial administrator, John Twells, an executive director. He has been with the parcels company since April 1977.

A new branch engineer at Western BRS' Newport, Gwent depot is Gareth Rees. He served previously as fleet engineer with several large companies.

National Bus Midlands and West regional executive John Badger is taking over the additional task of general manager of Midland Red, following the ap pointment of Colin Clubb as general manager at London Country '(CM, June 27). He will relinquish the post when Midland Red is carved into separate units.

At National Travel level, National Travel (East) operations manager (south) Robert Tait is taking over the joint roles of general manager of National Travel (West) and National Travel (South West). Mr Tait began his coaching career with an independent in 1959, and has been with NBC since 1973.

Ribble's new operations manager is Ian Morgan, formerly the East Lancs area manager. He joined Eastern National in 1972 as a management trainee, and moved two years later to Ribble as assistant to the Eastern area superintendent. He succeeds Tim Archer, who is now Alder Valley's traffic manager.

The Parks of Hamilton Group now has three new top managers to spearhead expansion programmes. Financial controller Jim McGuinness is now finance director and company secretary, former Dorada Croft financial controller Donald Macdonald has succeeded Mr McGuinness, Bob Milton has be come group operations manager.

IVECO (UK) Ltd has made David Gill its marketing director. He joined Ford in 1968, and has worked since then on a variety of British and European commercial vehicle marketing and sales activities. And general sales manager Olaf Hoeg, who first joined the company in 1975, and has considerable Fiat experience, is now sales director.
