MODEL TESTED/PUBLISHED:

Its difficult to see a future for the Actros other than as muckaways and tramcars. M-B hasn't yet sidelined it despite strong competition and the rise of the Axor, which might make the jump to muckaway.

It certainly looks the part, but Its 12-litre engine and heavier cab make it a non-starter for many UK operators. It offers a pretty decent package for the muckaway market with two axle configurations and one standard 12-speed transmission. It might be only a matter of time before it leaves the tipper market altogether, but that would be second-guessing the Germans.

Cab options are limited but it has a strong chassis, decent ground clearance and plenty of aluminium options, If you're looking for something different, well built and as strong as an ox then Actros might still linger in the domestic muckaway market LIKES AND DISLIKES...
