Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

TAKE YOUR PICK IN THE NEW YEAR

All in all 2006 was a notable year for truck and van buyers for a number of reasons: on the truck front the year was marked by two extremely important pieces of legislation, digital tachographs and Euro-4, both of which impacted on the market. The former in particular caused buyers to pull their orders forward to avoid the new legislative requirements.

During 2006 the great debate surrounding Euro-4, and the technology required to meet the cleaner emissions regs, reached its climax. Thankfully, according to our tests and initial user feedback, whether you opt for EGR or SCR-equipped vehicles you're not going to be unduly handicapped.

For van buyers, 2006 was a bonanza year for new products with all the mainstream manufacturers giving their products a significant upgrade. At the CV Show inApril, Ford, VW and Mercedes all unveiled their new vans, while the new Sevel range (Fiat, Peugeot, Citroen) came on stream mid year and the updated offerings from Vauxhall, Renault, Nissan joined the ranks in October.

With so many new trucks and vans launched during 2006, inevitably there will be fewer launches during 2007. However, there will be some new additions worth looking out for — Iveco will give the Stralis a hefty revamp and we're also expecting the MAN TGA to be given the treatment.

At the light end of the market Renault's new Maxity 3.5-tonner will be unveiled, as will the new lsuzu Rodeo pickup and Vauxhall's new Corsavan.

In the pages of the 2007 Truck & Van Buyers' Guide you'll find a comprehensive review of every commercial vehicle on the market. Whether you're in the market for a new truck or a van, you'll find it all in the next 60 or so pages.
