THE Minister of Transport has pro• posed to London County Council an( other local authorities concerned a One way traffic experiment using Blackwal and Rotherhithe Tunnels, and has askec for their views. Under the propose( scheme, Blackwall Tunnel would be one way northbound and Rotherhithe Tunne one-way southbound. The proposal i! made in the hope of easing the serioth congestion in the tunnels and approaci roads. At peak times, the combined flmh in each tunnel is almost 2,000 ‘vehicle:
per hour. • New one-way systems would be intro duced in adjoining roads.
