HE Minister of Transport has given initial directions to the Transport Holding Company.

Broadly, these directions place the Holding Company on a similar footing to the other new undertakings set up by the Transport Act in respect of a number of important functions relating to finance, investment, training, education and research. The Transport Holding Company is also directed to restrict the productive capacity of Star Bodies (BTC) Ltd., Bristol Commercial Vehicles Ltd. and Eastern Coach Works Ltd., on the lines foreshadowed in the Parliamentary discussion during the passage of the Bill.
