DESIGNED primarily for overseas visitors, a three-day EdinburghLondon coach service is to be introduced by Scottish Omnibuses, Ltd., in the summer. The route will include the Lake District, Chester, Lichfield and the Shakespeare country. Overnight stops being at Windermere and Stratford-onAvon.

STATING that the Clayton Dewandre Co., Ltd., supplied 90 per cent. of certain components used by heavyvehicle manufacturers, Mr. G. de Freitas (Lab., Lincoln) asked the Minister of Transport whether the company could have an increased allocation of fuel, as the amount granted them forced them to go on to a three-day week. The Minister, in a written reply, said that he was not prepared to intervene in individual cases.

OVERTIME ON ELECTRICS

nVERTIME, and in some depart ments a seven-day week, is being worked by Smith's Delivery Vehicles, Ltd., to meet heavy demands for battery-electric vehicles. Mr. H. W. Heyman, managing director, who has returned from a business trip to North and South America, reports that increasing numbers of operators there have come to appreciate the battery-electric's low maintenance and repair costs.
