BOOKINGS for the 1966 COMMERCIAL MOTOR Fleet Management Conference are already flooding in and early booking is therefore very desirable. The conference is this year to be held in the London Hilton Hotel on Thursday, September 22—the day before the Commercial Motor Show opens at Earls Court. This year, for the first time, papers will be presented by European as well as UK speakers.
Chairman of the conference is Lord Chesham, a former Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Transport.
These are the papers: "The Road Transport Training Board", Sir John Hunter, chairman of the Central Training Council; "Maintenance—Past, Present and Future", Mr. F. H. Woodward, despatch and transport manager of Burton Tailoring Ltd.; "Design and Safety Factors in Goods and Passenger Vehicles", Dr.-Ing. A. H. Muller, director, Commercial Vehicle Development of Daimler-Benz AG; "Fpture Trends in Transmissions", Mr. D. Thaw, technical director of Eaton ENV Transmissions Ltd.; "Operator Associations in Holland", Mr. E. van der Hall, secretary of Van Deudekom-Timmerman NV, international hauliers of Rotterdam; and a paper on "The Future Uses of Containers", the author of which will be announced shortly.
