Six Depots and 92 Lorries Bought by New Scottish Company: Sheffield Corporation to Bid for City Depot

AUNIT comprising six depots and 92 licensed lorries and 13 trailers (463 tons) is understood to have been bought by a new company, Road Services (Forth), Ltd., which is under

the -direction of Mr. Andrew Dunn, former group manager of British Road Services in Central Scotland.

The depots are at Falkirk (15 lorries [3 additional] and three trailers [11), Denny (32 lorries and four trailers), Cumbernauld (30 lorries [4] and three trailers), and Stirling (15 lorries and three trailers).

Road Services (Forth), Ltd., whose address is at the Denny depot in West Borland Road, are to begin operating immediately.

A hid has already been settled for at least one of the three depots in Sheffield which will be offered for sale by the British Transport Commission in March (The Commercial Motor, January 14), reports our Yorkshire correspondent.

It is to be made by Sheffield Corporation for the depot in Shepcote Lane. The grant of special A licences for many more purchases of transport units is reported below.
