RESIDENTS of housing estates on the outskirts of Sheffield are to be provided with direct excursions and tours by two coach operators following a decision of the Yorkshire Licensing Authority.
Hirst and Sweeting, Ltd., who already held two licences for 18 destinations, were. last Friday, granted another
licence. Picking-up points at Knowle Top and Town End, Stannington, Woodlands Estate, MalM Bridge and Holme Lane were allowed.
Sheffield United Tours, Ltd., were granted permission to operate excursions and tours from Gervase Road, Greenhill. Mr. B. Goodfellow, general manager of S.U.T., said that operators were agreed that his company was the logical one to deal with the new estate.
