12 Ramsden Terrace, Leeds, was summoned at Shrewsbury last week for using. a defective lorry, it was stated that the foot-brake rods were secured with safety pins.
A police officer said that he found 90 degrees of play in the steering wheel. Mr. Harold Bissell, Ministry of Transport examiner, stated that the steering box was tied to the chassis with rope.
The operator and driver were fined a total of £20, with 10s. costs.
