Mr. Grant was with Partridge, Wilson and Co., Ltd., Leicester, for 20 years. Hindle, Smart and Co., Ltd., has Tecaltry purchased the goodwill of the Sunbeam battery-electric.
MR. L. WOODCOCK, India and Burma manager of Leyland Motors. Ltd., has returned to India after having spent about four months at the company's headquarters. During his stay he supervised the shipment of the first complete double-deck bus for India for demonstration in Calcutta, and saw the final execution of an order for 87 Comet oil-engined lorries for the Nizam State Railway (Hyderabad).
Mit. liLNRY SPURRIER, who is at present on a 40,000-mile air tour of world markets, has been appointed managing director of Leyland Motors, Ltd. He will retain the position of general manager, and will be the cornpany's chief executive officer. MR.

become chairman of S.M.T. Sales and Service Co., Ltd. If the S.M.T. shareholders agree to sell out to the British Transport Commission, the S.M.T. Sales and Service Co., Ltd., will be formed to take over the non-transport assets of the group.
