Paternity leave

The Government hopes to encourage more fathers to spend time with their children by providing the right to two weeks paternity leave. Statutory Paternity Pay is set at £117.18 a week (2008-09) or 90% of earnings less than this. It must be taken in one period of one or two weeks within eight weeks of the baby's birth.
