THE Transport Holding Company is I expected to earn a profit before tax of 117 in. for the year ending December 31, 1964. This forecast was made by the chairman, Sir Philip Waiter, in London on Wednesday. The profit compares with .£13-75 m. for 1963. B.R.S. Ltd. are expected this year to double their 1963 profit before tax of 11.7 in.
Sir Philip added that they had been spending too much on maintaining old vehicles. Henceforth they would spend more on vehicle replacement, with Treasury approval, to the benefit of both themselves and the national economy by the release of skilled staff. Any T.H.C. expansion would result from their success as a business enterprise rather than from political motivation..
