Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

TRADERS with only a few vehicles. I and especially those engaged on local delivery work, often seemed to feel that they had no need of a specialist transport organization like the T.R.T.A. This showed a serious underestimation of the importance of their transport and of how seriously even the smallest trader could be affected by transport policies and developments.

These comments were made by Mr. H. R. Featherstone, national secretary of the Traders Road Transport Association, to members of the Association's Western Division at Swindon on Wednesday.

At the practical level, the smaller company would be just as much affected by proposals for the annual testing of goods vehicles and by the tighter control over maintenance standards which the Ministry of Transport were considering.

Also, restrictive transport measures-whether by taxation or otherwise—would adversely affect every business in the cou ntry.
